The Kids in the Shoe is a 1935 Color Classics cartoon.
Summary[]
After misbehaving at the table, the children get sent to bed by their mother, the lady living in a shoe. As soon as she has fallen asleep, the kids start a wild party with dance and song. The old lady wakes up to a huge pillow fight and threatens to punish the kids with castor oil which turns out to be cider.
Plot[]
The old lady who lives in a shoe has a bit of trouble with her gaggle of children. The old woman feeds her kids for breakfast while the cat laps up the spillage on the floor under the table. They won't eat their porridge, won't brush their teeth or comb their hair. "For wasting your bread, it's off to bed!" yells the old woman, who ties ropes to her rocking chair to accommodate all the kids at once! As soon as their mother's in bed, they launch a wild party, playing musical instruments and doing a swinging rendition of Smiley Burnette's classic "Mama Don't Allow No Music Playing Round Here." They then have a massive pillow fight until the old woman wakes up. The threat of castor oil for the kids- which turns out to be a good belt of cider for Mom- puts things right.
