The Bored Cuckoo is a 1948 Noveltoons cartoon directed by Bill Tytla and George Germanetti.
Plot[]
A bored and lonely family cuckoo longs to be out in the open like the other birds, singing the clever song "All I Ever Do Is Cuckoo." He goes off his perch and escapes, encountering several problems adapting to the outside world. The cuckoo flies into town and finds the "woman" of his dreams, a "Mae West" bird, in Birdland. However, he's a little different, and the local real birds make fun of him, knocking him around a bit. But there's no explaining love. Mae falls for him while doing her club act and singing "If I Were Free." When things look the darkest, Mae finally comes through and "coos up to see" him sometime. Several baby birds result.

- This cartoon fell into the public domain in the United States in 1975 due to National Telefilm Associates not renewing the copyright on time.
