Summary[]

A little boy jumps on a real train and learns a lesson about safety.

Plot[]

A small boy is playing with his toy trains in the yard, guarded by his faithful dog, who is tied to a nearby tree. He's obviously mad for trains, and when a real freight train goes by outside, he runs away to climb aboard. The frantic dog tries to break his rope to give chase. The little boy makes his way alarmingly to the engine, where he climbs aboard one of the box-cars. The train then starts off and makes the boy bump up and down, fall off the train and hit his head on the rails. He then wakes up and finds himself in a huge train yard with a bunch of weird looking steam engines. He finally picks a shiny blue streamlined engine and climbs aboard. He then turns the levers to start the train. Once the train starts going, the gauges turn into taunting, scary faces which shriek at the boy to "Play Safe!" As the train hurtles towards a collision with another engine, the engines blow their whistles at one another and when they finally meet each other at the middle of the line, they jump up and scream. The boy finally wakes up but is still half asleep. Suddenly, another real train approaches the boy laying on the tracks. The dog sees this and jumps through his collar to save the boy. The dog finally outruns the train and sticks his tail in some red paint and waves it like a flag at the train. The driver does not see the flag and the train rams into the back of the dog, which causes him to fly right into the boy and grab him off the train tracks. The dog still has his tail on the tracks and the train is still approaching. He gets his tail off the tracks right before the train passes by. The dog licks the boy to see if he is alright, when he finally wakes up and happily kisses the dog.
