Once Upon a Rhyme is a 1950 Casper the Friendly Ghost cartoon.

Summary[]

Casper the Friendly Ghost doesn't like to haunt and wishes he could be in Mother Goose Land. He gets his wish and frightens the spider away from Little Miss Muffet. He them comes upon the old lady in the shoe but frightens her away, also. He is depressed, but when he rescues Red Riding Hood from the wolf, Mother Goose rewards him by making up a rhyme about him.

Plot[]

Casper the Friendly Ghost goes to Mother Goose Land. He meets the three blind mice, Mary, Mary quite contrary, Little Miss Muffet and the old woman who lived in a shoe. As Little Red Riding Hood is on the way to Grandma's house through the forest, the Big Bad Wolf spots her. Jumping on his motorcycle, he roars ahead to get into Grandma's disguise. When Red arrives, he is about to have his meal. Casper shows up and saves the day for Red. Now Casper has a rhyme in the Mother Goose book: "Casper is/A kindly ghost/Who doesn't haunt/Or scare/He likes to/Laugh and play/All day and/Make friends/Everywhere."
