Lumberjack and Jill is a 1949 Popeye the Sailor cartoon.

Summary[]

Popeye and Bluto have a logging camp. They are so love-starved that Bluto can only carve statues of pretty girls from the trees. Olive Oyl comes up the river in her canoe and applies for the job as cook. The love-starving is over, but the fighting begins. With Olive as the new lumber camp cook, Bluto tries to get her attention away from Popeye.

Plot[]

Popeye and Bluto share a logging camp. Their new cook, Olive, arrives. Bluto takes every opportunity to make Popeye look bad, saddling him with Olive's baggage, making a stove he's about to light explode, and beating him out of the opportunity to rescue Olive from a hazard of Bluto's creation. Popeye eventually has his spinach and beats off Bluto just in time to rescue Olive. But even a spinach-energized Popeye is no match for Olive's cooking.
