Cool Cat Blues is a 1961
The Cat cartoon.
Summary[]
The Cat narrates an experience he had gone through, informing that he is a private-eye detective, but also a pianist, as music is a hobby of his. A soon-to-be-former bodyguard, Junior, brings The Cat to the P.D.Q Network to meet Smiling Ed, also famously known as Ed Solvent, the biggest thing on American television. The Cat seems fascinated seeing as Smiling Ed freezes himself in a freezer for two hours inside an ice block and afterwards other workers chip off the ice in order to keep his posture stiff and still for his show. After finishing a show, The Cat finds out the purpose of him seeing Smiling Ed was to be his new bodyguard, as Junior had been shot with seven bullets and stabbed with a big knife behind the back of him three days earlier, only taking him three days to completely collapse. A week passes by and The Cat guards Ed while he is freezing up, A lady named Sadie walks up to The Cat, grabs him up and kisses him in an unusual way almost similar to strangling, causing The Cat to lose consciousness. He later wakes up to Smiling Ed missing from the freezer. Ed had seemingly been stolen and The Cat is now on a quest to finding Smiling Ed across the town.
