Blackie the Lamb and Wolfie the Wolf is an animated cartoon duo created by Paramount Pictures' Famous Studios. they both appeared in 4 theatrical animated shorts during the 1940s, beginning with No Mutton Fer Nuttin’ in 1943, the first Noveltoon while Wolfie appeared in nine standalone animated shorts.
Wolfie and the other original Famous characters were purchased by Harvey Comics in 1958. The 1943-47 cartoons (originally released as part of the Noveltoon series) were sold to U.M.&M. T.V. Corp. for television distribution.
Wolfie is seen as a cameo in the Barney Google and Snuffy Smith episode Little Red Jughaid where he is voiced by Paul Frees.
